This Week's Frustration:
Our keyboard isn't working and I haven't been able to go get another one. To make things worse, we just bought the one we had! Not the biggest deal in the world, but there's not much you can do on your computer without a functioning keyboard.
This Week's Disappointing Movies:
We watched
Shutter Island with The Besties this week. While I can't say it was the worst movie I've seen...it definitely didn't live up to my expectations. I think the movie was marketed wrong. It's not necessarily a bad movie...again, just not what you expect. And then last night we went and saw
Wolfman. This one I was expecting to be bad, so it did live up to my expectations. I mean, really? A
Wolfman remake for this day and age...it just didn't work. The whole thing seemed so silly. Especially the howling. Lame.
This Week's Friendly Reminder:
Yo! We watched some documentary on TLC on fat teenagers. These were kids who were like 700 pounds and shit and it was scary. Scary because although they knew their lives were in danger, they kept eating the wrong shit. One kid had alread had gastric bypass surgery and had only lost like 70 pounds. It just reminded me that food addiction is a real thing. It's easy to say that pizza is nowhere near as bad for you as cocaine...but after watching this shit, I just might be convinced it is. Although, I've never been as big as any of the dudes on this show, I know what it's like to know something is bad for you but not being able to stop. And I sure as fuck will try my hardest to not be back in that place.
This Week's Read:
I'm currently reading "A Reliable Wife" by Robert Goolrick and it's actually quite entertaining. Makes for a quick read and blends in mystery with cheesy sex.
This Week's Feeling:
Not sure if it's a feeling...but I'm just experiencing clarity. So many things are becoming obvious to me and it's a fricken' brilliant place to be. I'm looking forward to continuing to open my mind to new information and then having more options of where I want the rest of my life to go.
This Week's Awakening:
Even at my job...although I've been at saving the world one homeless person at a time for like 11years, I finally attended a conference that put everything into perspective for me. You know, sometimes I question my clients' level of motivation. I assume that because they're not getting to where I want them to be, they aren't motivated. Yesterday, I learned that perhaps their motivation is somewhere else. If I'm trying to get them to build up a savings account but neglecting to realize that their motivation lies in just making sure they get to work every day...I'm not doing my job.
This Week's I Feel Old Moment:
I walked into The Boss Lady's office and I heard Janet Jackson's "Come Back To Me" playing on the radio. I asked her what station she was listening to and she says, "the same oldies one I always listen to." You know, it's one thing to hear Janet Jackson on the urban "oldie" stations, but when you hear her played on THE oldies station, right along Elvis and The Beach Boys, it really puts things in perspective. "Come Back To Me" came out 21 years ago this year...when did that happen?
This Week's Favorite Quote:
"And when he turns black, you have to go back."-The Blondie.
After discussing the little white man that tells you when to cross the street.
This Week's Question:
How long until we realize that just because we think we have a wild animal domesticated, they will not attack us? Are places like Sea World even still relevant?
